Red-E Food Court

While most restaurants serve only one type of food, Red-E, the first food court in India has revolutionised the standard of the one cuisine restaurant. Red-E is a self-service restaurant with North Indian, South Indian, Continental and American food, all under one roof. The other appealing factor is its energising background music. Previously only youngsters and teenagers frequented the place, but these days the family crowd has increased. Making the name 'Red-E' smaller and less aggressive on the brochures and signboards brought about this change. The menu was also altered and games were brought in to attract children. Now their customers range from the kids to the elderly.

Age of Computers

Did you know that the world population stands at a whooping 6 billion? According to Wikipedia,"As of June 21,the world's population is believed to be 6,704,845,726".And what's even more amazing is that the number of personal computers being used stands at 1 billion odd! I came across an article on Vnunet.com,according to which roughly 1 billion PCs are being used throughout the world.And this number is expected to double by the year 2014, according to Gartner research.

Appearances can be deceiving-so can names

Apparently,chop suey is not a Chinese dish after all,at least technically speaking.It was invented in America by Chinese cooks.Fancy a dish having an Oriental name yet not originating from China.I believe it was invented in pretty much the same way that Chicken Manchurian was invented in a Bombay restaurant!

Guided missiles for delivering post!

We know that the US is the big brother when it comes to artillery and weapons,but using it in the name of innovation is really taking it too far.Apparently,in the summer of 1959,the United States postal service experimented with the delivery of letters by guided missiles.Obviously the experiment's results were a failure(who knows what happened to the 'targets').Well,we can all thank ourselves that they didn't go along with that idea!

Music made using Windows sounds

I was browsing through youtube and found a music track that was made entirely with Windows sounds.Music made with samplers and software such as Fruity loops don't impress me much but I was quite impressed with this piece since it has been made with preset sounds taken from Windows(yeah those gong sounds and chimes you can hear when Windows starts have been used).Quite creative huh? :-)
